I just picked up a Oakshore Electronic Sights Inc. 3x9 scope and would like to get some information on the company.  The scope seems to be very well made and is in excellent shape.  As far as i can find on the web they made a lot of red dot 1.5x style scopes for the marine shooting teams 1911's.  Does anybody know what the scoop is on these scopes other than the standard red dot 1.5x scopes i.e. Where were they manufactured, is the company still in business, did they use quality glass?  Semi Auto

I had a Microdot scope in Germany in 4-12x  50mm in Germany, on my Mauser for quite a while, but the Germans were flip-flopping and being wishy-washy for a spell with hunting laws, and they were deemed illegal.  So being a foreign hunter, I sold the evidence.  Three months later they said it was okay to have after all.  To sell it was a big mistake, but I needed the Deutsch Marks to get another scope.

The whole scope line at the time had a single red dot in the middle.  This was before the all illuminated reticles came along.  In most daylight the dot was never turned on, did not need it.  Somehow that puppy kept on track with or without the dot in use.

The optics were 100% Japanese, this was just before the China tidal wave hit.  But when I zeroed it on the 7 x 64, I was making neck shots on Fallow deer, and Roe deer.  It was truly a wonderful scope.

In fact, since you posted this topic, I am combing the net to find another one.

Sounds like the reticle is similar to the Trijicon Accupoint.  have you checked those out?

Thanks for the information.  I found this one on e-bay and have never seen another one like it.  It is also the micro dot model but a 3x9 40mm.  I am putting it on a .223, I hope i have as good of luck as you did with yours.  Good luck on finding one on the net, i searched and searched and could only find a few of the 1.5x red dots on gunbroker.com for sale.  Do you know anything about the glass quality they used in the variable scopes?  Also, i have heard mixed reviews on Japanese scopes some were cheap and some were very high quality.  I cant see anything cheap about this scope so am assuming i got lucky.
