I'm looking for an inexpensive spotting scope mostly for range use. It will be used to spot hunting rifle groups...usually at 100 yards.
What is the optimum magnification for this use? I think 20x might be too little... I need a waterproof scope (I live in Seattle) and I'd like to have a kit with the purchase. Budget: $200 |

With a budget of $200, I would suggest you look at the 25-50x50 Bushnell Trophy. It retails for $190.
If you can stretch your budget just a little bit, the 20-60x65 Bushnell Trophy can be had for about $220.
These are sold as kits with compact tripods and both hardside and softside carrying cases included. Edited by lucznik |

What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?
