I'm considering to get one of the 2.5-10x50 with ill. german #4 reticle.
Most scopes in the mid price range have illumination too bright even at the lowest setting.
How is the Weaver Classic Extreme in this regard? I do quite a bit of night hunting and nothing is more annoying than than loosing my target due to internal reflection.
I'm not looking for S&B's illumination qualities, but I need something usable.
I don't see this scope listed here on SWFA?
Thanks for your kind replys.

I read a post on here somewhere about someone who said they had a new Bushnell 4200 with illumination and it was too bright. He then put the same size battery with half the voltage and it was then perfect. I wonder if that would work with all illuminated models.

I have a 4200 2.5-10x50 No. 4 reticle with an illuminated dot at the center of the crosshairs.  I do not find it to be too bright with the battery that came with the scope when I got it off the sample list, but maybe that battery is weak.  There is one on the list now... mine is different, the battery housing is on the left side of the adj. housing.  Mine is a grat scope, FWIW.  I am not familiar with the scope you inquired about.  Sorry...

Drop down from a 2032, to a 2016. You will have to do some work on the contacts, but it will work. All of my illuminated scopes are using 2016 batteries. I have made this recommendation many times in this forum. There are a few here that are using the 2016 now with success.

Does the Weaver Classic Extreme use a glass etched reticle?

I don't believe that the illumated dot in a low setting is intrusive at all on the Weaver Classic Extreme.  Turned up it will illuminate the entire crosshair.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to pull the trigger on it.
Will try the battery step down trick on my older ill. scopes also.
