This is how I'd like to have it rigged (from McMillan's website):

I like the traditional/original look the best.

I like the "scout" version the best. I removed original "wooden" stock on mine and have it stored away; I then installed a synthetic stock for the harsh abuse up at "deer camp".  Bandito

more M1a's....

I've seen some with "camo" laminated stocks that are neat.

compared with some other semi autos the m1a is finicky to work with- traditionalist here- this one will ring 8x10 steel all day with military surplus.

the mini-14 can be made up to look like what ever, without changing the fact the basic gun is pos. It suffers from the same scoping problems, magazine problems, trigger problems as when they first came out.

Well, now I know who to talk to when it comes to getting one. I do like the traditional look, but for that I've got the M1 Garand. Aside from an old Winchester .22 and Grampa's 1930s hardware store 16 ga. all my firearms have synthetic stocks.

So here's a question: Since the M14 wasn't designed to easily accomodate a scope, how are they rigged up for that by present-day military users? And here's another one: Given the choice between an M1A and an AR-10, which would you choose?

Having the m21 (adjustable) stock helps.

Mr. McDonald recommended me getting Sadlack scope mount for mine a few months ago. It'll be the route I go unless something better comes out by the time I'm ready to scope it. Mike's the "man" when it comes to M1A's!! Thunbs Up
