I was looking after a Star A magazine and finally came up over an auction which had one.

That auction ad had a title called "STAR model A & M mag 38-Super 1911 magazine clip Spain" and a image showing a Star A magazine "http://i10.ebayimg.com/03/i/04/64/18/e8_1_b.JPG".

Fortunately, I was the lucky bidder who won it, but at that time I didn't know what it came as a surprise when it showed up in my home. That was a Star M magazine, which is completely different as the one pictured in the auction and advertised in the auction!

Now, I had a Star M magazine for which I don't have a pistol so I proceeded to contact the seller which can be found on:

Gallery Dist Inc.
2807 Perkiomen Ave
Reading PA 19606

Fax 610-779-8830
Phone 610-779-4160

Hopelessly, he simply refuses to answer my e-mails. So I decided to search for his feedback on eBay at http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&u serid=gallerydist&iid=7165620988&frm=284 and I found that despite having quite a few positive feedbacks he, every now an then, gets a negative one for the same reason as me -- item not as advertised, seller refuses to respond.

Therefore, I understand it is a bad policy to buy from him because you can easily get screwed up.

You have been all warned!

Eventually, I would like to listen to your comments about this seller and your businesses with him.

I've never bought on ebay and never will.  I know you can just about steal stuff on ebay, but hey you take the risk.

All too common on eBay.  For us eBay is a good place to sell but not to buy.

I think that eBay can be a tremendous resource for all sorts of items with the proper precautions taken.  I always check feedback prior to bidding and look for two things:

1) 100% or almost 100% positive feedback

2) Dispute resolution - if there are any instance of a nonresponsive seller, I won't buy.

Of course, I always pay via credit card using Paypal or other service, that way there is some recourse if things do go bad.  If check or money order is all that's accepted, it's a no go.

Overall, I've had good success, but if I can get reasonably close somewhere else on price with some service to go along with my purchase, I always skip ebay (like the sample list ).

We have been having problems lately with scammers e-mailing our second place bidders and claiming to be us.  They send an official looking e-mail from eBay that emulated the Second Chance Offer e-mail and ask the bidder to wire money by Western Union, claiming that the high bidder flaked out or passed on the deal.....and offering it to the second place guy for his bid amount.

You gotta be careful with eBay as there are a ton of scams going on and it is very difficult to do anything about it once you've been scammed.

Only communicate with eBay and eBay members via the message system on eBay.....never communicate via direct e-mail concerning eBay if you can keep from it.
