I purchased a Savage 93R17 TR that needs a scope, I have narrowed my choices to 2 scopes, My intended use is for punching holes in paper targets from 50 yards to 200 yards.
my 2 choices are Nikon Buckmaster 6-18X40 BDC or SS 16X42. I am really having a hard time choosing between these Scopes. I have ( I Know) a Barska Swat 3.5-10X40 that I took off my Colt M4Ops .22  that now wears a Eotech 553. My wife Loves the Eotech on the colt and now can hit 8 out of 10 shots while shooting at the hanging steel targets at 30 yards at the range, so its not likely a scope will return to the colt. With the  barska I never did a Box test or anything like that but, once I had the Barska swat scope lined up It actually did its job and did not loose its center. I was thinking that I wanted a little more magnification for target shooting than 10X. What do you guys think, I want to stay around the $ 300 range for a scope for the Savage. Ay advise you guys could give would be great.

I personally am not a fan of the BDC. It is okay for shooting game in decent light. But for a dedicated paper puncher I would rather be using standard cross hairs or the SS mil-dot.

Of the two the SS would be my pick.
