I need a compact scope along the same size as the Leupold 1-4x20. The problem is I need it in GLOSS &  I pnly see the Matte now from Leupold.  Does anyone make a clear , quality  GLOSS compact scope   or fixed in a small short size? Also what is the difference between a WIDE duplex & regular Duplex reticle  in the  Leupold line?

All the scopes above except the last one (FXII 4x33) are under 10 inches in length.  The top 2 (FXIII 1.5-5x20 and FXI 4x28) are barely over 9 inches in length.  I do not know about Burris so I'll have to leave that one to someone else.  What type of rifle is the scope going on?

I agree.  The Weaver V3 is a great scope.  I believe though, it is only available in a matte finish.  DOGMAN is looking for a scope with a gloss finish.

I really like the Leupold Rimfire 4x, but  am I correct  in saying it  is only labeled RIMFIRE because  of the fixed parallex of 60yards? If so- will this stand up to alot of 223.....

I believe you are correct but I would contact Leupold for verification:

http://www.leupold.com/hunting-and-shooting/contact-us/sales -u-s/

You may also want to ask them if they can set the parallax to 100 yds. if you are putting it on a .223.  They should be able to do this but there might be a small charge.

You asked if the Weaver scope was well made.  I have had a V3 on a 12ga slug gun for years and it retains zero year after year after year!  IMO it is one of optics best buys.
