i know its a long shot, but i wish more companies would make a 1.5-6x40 scope. my only choices are nikon (which i dont feel comfortable paying $400 something for a monarch scope). i dont want a lit reticle, so that makes hawke out of the list...

does anyone have any other ideas? (#4 reticle would be my first choice)

out of everything you posted the zeiss is perfect but too expensive. burris seems like the best in what i need, but the problem is i don need it for a couple of months or wont be able to afford it then.

Until recently Sightron,in their SIII series, offered a 1.5-6x50mm 30mm tube w/German #4.  Maybe you can still locate one. Other than that, what Wes has shown, finding one used,or the Nikon is about it.
Looks like you can expect choices in low powered scopes, variable and fixed,to be fewer and fewer as time goes on.

I too like that power range and wish there were more companies making them
would love to see Trijicon come out with one

I am testing S&B and Kahles right now
great scopes of course, but not cheap

...

The Falcon has served me just fine...I would love to be able to afford the s&b but those days are long gone...

NOT your kinda of Reticle it is too ubercool / tacticool or it is just too functional and practical.

Just don't use the light or illumination and it will still work just fine.

i dont have that kind of money. most i can afford is $400
i need a low power scope and a 2nd pair of binos as well as a spotting scope.

im probably gonna end up with either a leupold vx3 1.75-6 or a buhsnell elite 2-7x

338, those scopes have their place, long distance where mpbr is out of the question. when i get my 300win mag im def putting a mildot on it. but for something thats no more than 200 yards i just dont want it in my scope.

this range (1.5-6) is for deer
even with my 223 when i shoot yotes and cats i just go with mpbr because i call them into within 150 yards.

but i have a lot of hunting oppertunities coming up where the distance is gonna grow and the mildot will see use.

I really bothers me that more companies dont offer the 1.5-6x40 scopes. It's the absolutly perfect scope for whitetail hunting. There is no real situation EVER that you need more then 6x when hunting deer. Even if the deer is 300 yards away 6x puts it 50 yards away in the scope. There are many many situations that having less then 3 or 4 power is useful.

It drives me nuts. It reminds me of when my bother bough his first deer rifle and took it out of the case and it had a 4-16x50 scope on the damn thing and I just shook my head. I'm from MN where the average shot on a deer is 75 yards. Even long shots in some of the cattle county and open fields are 250.

By the way Minox has a 1.5-8x32 in their ZA5 line that's under $500. I cant decide if I want to get a euro diamond on sale or save for the ever better Minox. It's a much smaller lighter scope then the Euro Diamond and goes up to 8x.

I have the Burris Eurodiamond 1.5-6X.  Glass is excellent, build quality too.  Set MPBR for 250 yards than hold on deer for 25 to 400 yards.  Minimal hold over beyond that as seldom will have further needs or confiidence.  Mine is illuminated but at $299 only wish I had waited.

If you keep your eyes open there tend to be used deals in that magnification range.

I happen to know of a primo used Kahles 1.5-6x42 that sold yesterday for $300.

They are out there.
