A 7mm mag is able to reach out quite some distance and be of value so one thing I would consider is the reticle. Scopes with a balistic reticle can give a known hold over at distance, however the down side is that most are not in the first focal plane which means that the hold over marks only work at the highest magnification. Alternatively a FFP first focal plane scope has the advantage that a known hold over mark is always t he same hold over regardless of power the scope is set on. I would suggest this:

and I know it is not a traditional hunting optic but I do not think you would be disappointed. Also worth a look are the new Zeiss reticles and the Kahles multizero, but they still wont do what the IOR does.
