Yep, great advise there from The Dark One.
The 3-9x with the #4 is LOTS cheaper than the 3.5-10x model.
If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

My mis-read I'm not used to seeing the tube dia. in such bold print.
I've been painting the house and the fumes are getting to me.

Need to follow the rules. Just hard to determine which set of rules to follow
Now the rules have changed again.

I thought the original poster was trying to pick between Conquest and IOR.

How did Leupold get in here?

SORRY,NO OFFENSE BUT NO LEUPY'S FOR ME.So,I am assuming even though both the IOR and the Conquest both have Zeiss Lenses, the IOR has tad bit better glass? If so,is it that noticeable? Sorry for asking all the questions but I have nowhere in the area I live that carries these,so a hands on comparison is out of the question for me.Thanks Again Guy's.   ----------- Rich

The glass is close, you will like either scope - especially given that you will not have the other on hand for a side-by-side.

Leupold got in because someone's been listening to the masses and believing the advertising.

IOR does not have Zeiss lenses.  IOR has IOR lenses.  The bulk glass for both IOR and Zeiss scopes comes from Schott AG.  The actual glass types are likely different.  All the grinding, polishing, coating, etc. is done at their respective facilities.

As for the difference, it is not large, although I can see it when the scopes are side by side.  Once you get into the realm of fairly expensive scopes, the differences become smaller and smaller.

the eye relief on the 3-9x40 is excellent and the #4 reticle on the zeiss is great.

don't look back, you'll love it.

Conquest 3-9 would be a great scope at a great price; and the 2.5-10 gives you little more optically for a considerable jump in $$.

In the end, buy the one you "want," else in 6 months you will have sold what you bought and be in the market again for what you wanted all along.

Very true!  I can't tell you how many times I've done that!
