Yeah, I've seen some really nice bucks in west Austin including a beautiful 14 pointer.  The locals call them "rats in high heels."

A few years ago I spent all day shooting some photos on the Y.O. Ranch for a magazine.  I saw a ton of  deer, although the biggest buck was probably scored about 120.  That night I went back to Austin and saw a much bigger buck eating flowers in the front lawn of a friends house.  He laughed when I told him that buck was worth more than $5K on the Y.O..

Man, the genetics of those Deer looks good but only for the racks the body sizes are a little small.             LOL!!!     OK, I would still hang their heads on my wall and their tenderloins in my freezer.

Nice couple of 4 pointers. Bucky

I agree Steelbenz... they do seem to have small bodies compared to their horns.

You could mow the lawn and hunt, all at the same time! Now I also know what an 8 pointer means! I thought it was like 8 shots or something!

You can certainly tell a place where the deer are not being poached.  The deer around my place are always jumpy, no matter what.  Not in deer season, they don't run off as much, but we have never been able to get close to one in all the time we've lived here.  That is awesome.  Gotta love Texas...
