Recently got my new IOR 2.5 - 10 X 42, I also ordered BC caps to go with it (size suggested by SWFA).  When I put the rear scope cap on, do I put it on over the rubber ring at the back of the scope or do I remove the rubber ring and then put the cap on?

Put it over the rubber ring.  You can cut a bunch or length off the cap.  beings the only part that will be holding it is where the rubber ring touches.

Never thought of cutting it.  Probably keep stuff from getting stuck underneath the part of the cap that isn't in contact with the scope.

Of course another option is to handle it like the professional hunters and guides do, which is to replace the BCs with the scopeshieldalaska covers.

I don't think neoprene would hold up very well.  Especially if it meets multifloral rose.  A nice viney plant we have around here that makes you bleed.

Those thorny things at least have a nice name, but would raise havoc if forced with any kind of cover, including flip-ups. You would be amazed at the stuff professional guides push these neoprenes through however.

What do you consider a professional hunter .....one that charges you a fee... and by the way I have hunted with many so called professional hunters and none of which had any covers of any sort on their weapons. you should stop trying to push that product here it is really rude! and crude at that. just another copy but with a strap?
