I'm looking to replace my old Pecar Berlin with a modern scope.  I just discovered that the tube diameter is 26mm (equals about 1.024") which means so are the scope rings.  Curious if whether there are any other brands, old or new, that are also 26mm.  Hoping maybe I can make a trade.

Thanks,

Steve

IOR and Kahles make 26mm tubes, but they are pretty pricey.  Bushnell, I think makes one or made one.

Wouldn't it be better to just buy some new scope rings in either 1" or 30mm?  Your options open up exponentially, and comparatively speaking, rings are cheap.  Besides Docter, I'm not aware of any other 26mm tube scopes that are imported into the US, though I think most of the Euro scope brands make 26mm scopes for the European market.  Regardless, finding a 26mm scope is likely to be an expensive endeavor.

Sorry if I was not clear.  Yes, I intend to get a 1" scope, which means I need to get new rings as well.  Since a good set of Sako rings are fairly pricey, I would like to find someone who would either purchase mine or trade for some 1" rings.

26mm scopes and rings are very scarce and some what desirable to collectors.  Your challenge will be finding that person.

I suggest you put your rings on eBay in order to maximize your exposure.

A lot of European scopes were, and probably still are, 26mm in diameter. Also, the early Kollmorgen Bear Cub and later Redfield Bear Cub scopes were 26mm in diameter.
And, until some years ago, Redfield made 26mm rings. I bought a set on ebay some years ago for a Docter 6x42 26mm tube diameter scope I purchased.
I reencountered this problem with another 6x42 26mm diameter Docter I just purchased. No 26mm rings could be found. Some guy had a pair on ebay but they disappeared before I realized the price was really good.
Leupold had them listed in QR only but a call to Leupold resulted in a "We don't make them anymore" reply.
Brownell's to the rescue!!!! Brownell's has 30mm to 26mm Delrin reducers for @$20.00. Their SKU is 084-000-094. I will order a set of these as soon as the Docter arrives and checks out okay. Please don't buy Brownell's out for a few days-until I get a set.
Hope this helps.

TPS makes/sells 26mm rings.  I got some recently for my Kahles ZF84.  Superb rings for a superior rifle scope...

To answer your original question, here is a short list of older 26mm scopes I am aware of.....

Kahles
Pecar-Berlin  Thunbs Up  - one of my favorites !
Lisenfeld
Krombach-Wetzlar
Hensoldt-Wetzlar
Mauser
Seeadler-Optik
Hertel und Reuss
Karl Kaps
Docter and the former Eastern bloc Zeiss ( what was that full name? )
I'm sure I'll remember more - must be gettin' forgetful.
