We do and it saves times and money, pays for itself quickly.

I keep one in my pack to check my zero in the field.  The back of our business cards have a "zero check" target so you can easily verify that your scope is still zeroed in the field without shooting it.

Here is how it works.

1.  Sight in rifle.

2.  Install boresighter

3.  Make notation of crosshair location in boresighter on card

5.  Keep card with firearm and boresighter

If you drop your rifle or wonder what the airline did to it, you simply put the boresighter on and make sure it is hitting the same spot you noted on the card.  If it is off, you will know it before you shoot it.

We built a web page to help explain it a little better.

Every order we ship includes a card.

Good advise keeping a bore sighter with you for a hunt, Chris.

I always take a back up scope with me because I'm paranoid!

Good question, silver.

Which boresighter do you recommend, Chris?

I just picked up the Leupold boresight tool.  Works great.  But not any good for un-magnified sights..AKA red dots.

I dont have a bore sighter.  I shoot at close range then work back farther away. I wouldnt mind having a bore sighter but there are a lot of things on my list ahead of that. I did notice that there is a free bore sighter with some of BSA's sweet 22 scopes and I could probably use a 22 scope but I need to buy a Nikon Omega scope first for a musket.

I use the magnetic type because they are small, one piece and work on any rifle.

Bushnell Magnetic Boresighter

The new Leupold ZeroPoint is the cat's meow if you want to spend the exta money.

I use the old type of boresighters. With different arbors. What i want to know is how good are the new ones that use lasers?

I use the Laserlyte Super Hi-Precision boresighter, it's a little higher money-wise than the others, but it's worth the coin. This particular laser stays precise even out past 100 yds, the cheaper laser boresighters I've used got "fuzzy" at 25yds and beyond, they just didn't give good results.

This laser recommends that you boresight at ~25yds, but I've found that the further out you boresight the better the results. I'll go out at dark and aim the laser at the side of my barn ~150yds away and boresight my sandbagged rifle, I'm usually within a few inches at 100yds on the range. Used to give the neighbors a real scare to see me with a rifle at dark and a laser cutting through the air.
