Not Kahles but not bad glass just remember that a lot of the cost is the fancy rangefinder.

No matter how good the optics are in these devices, to me they are to cumbersum and heavy, just my opinion.

Has anyone actually used one of these? I like the idea of the integrated rangefinder for the cost of this unit...... I'm just really wondering how the optics stand on their own.....

I'm kind of split between one of these and a bushnell elite 4200. The range finder is a big plus to me, but I'm assuming that the glass in the elite is better.... just how much better (or better yet, how much worse is the nikon?)

Also, how long (or how many range finds) does the battery last?

In my precision rifle class I took a couple weeks back a guy was using one on his DPMS .308.  I asked him how he liked it on day 2 of the class and he said it was working okay.  But then on day 3 he had replaced it with a Leupold MK4.  So that may tell you something.

IMO this just seems like on of those technologies that would be a good idea to wait on.  Give it 3-5 years and Im sure we will see scopes where you won't be able to tell if it has a rangefinding unit or not.  Or I could be wrong and they will always be ugly and cumbersomeWink

I think it is better to have the rangefinder combined with the binoculars, personally.  I played with a new Zeiss Victory RF over at the SHOT Show and was very impressed (I now have a Victory RF fund where I am trying to save up the cash to buy one).

I am slowly moving away from boycotting German products into boycotting British ones.  Besides, for the moment those Victory RF binos have a combination of features that are not present on any other bino/rangefinder combination I am aware of.
