Local pawn shop/gun shop has a Remington 700 LA stainless with what appears to be an HS precision stock. I say this because it is identical to the stock on my Accumark which is HS. Annnnywayyy, He comes the good part. This sucker is topped with a Zeiss Diavari 3x9x42 V with the T T coatings. The scope is one inch tube. I wont more info on this scope. Would all of these be FFP being German made and not like the C or American assembled cousins?? anyway rifle and scope can be bought for 900$$ im thinking the scope alone is probably worth close to that. its minty also. where does it stack to the 30mm versions or the ones made today. Im guess its a ten year old scope probably a pre conquest attempt at the NA 1 inch market. Thanks guys.

Sounds like a decent deal, provided you really like the rifle and scope in their own right, including the chambering.

You can tell if the scope is FFP by changing the magnification. The reticle will change size along with it. However, FFP really is only useful with reticles that have subtensions, e.g. mil-dot. Depending on how the reticle looks to you otherwise, it may be as much a hindrance as a help.

im not crazy about the calibre, i just felt the scope alone justified most of the price. i felt i could sell the gun and have only around 3 to 4 hundred in a nice high end scope. im still debating on it. thanks

A quick call to Zeiss USA will probably answer all your questions about the scope.
