This is a huge deal....
Hornady will now be loading up 6.5 Grendel ammunition as well as producing 6.5 Grendel brass and a new 123 grain A-Max bullet that many shooters have been begging for.
I'm guessing this will sway quite a few who have been on the fence between 6.8 SPC and 6.5 Grendel.
Hornady's 120 grain A-Max is one of the bullets that has consistently tested as having a higher than advertised average G1 ballistic coefficient.  This should only be better with the 123 grain A-Max.
More factory ammunition/brass choices and great target bullets 123 grain A-Max, Sierra Matchkings, and Lapua Scenars - as well as great hunting bullets like the 125 grain Nosler Partition, 120 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip, and others is putting it at the top of the AR-15 class I believe.
Of course for defense/combat and 200 yards or less hunting the 6.8 SPC still remains its equal in every sense possible.  For close quarters on out to 50 yards it is probably superior for the defense/combat roles.  The 6.8 guys are getting the 110 grain loads flying out of the barrels now with the new chamber specs and some experimenting.  Still I think the versatility goes to the 6.5 Grendel in the end....

I see you like your 6.5 Grendel. I'm looking at purchasing one. What brass are you using? Have you tried reforming 7.62X39 brass? I see were a guy hydro formed some 7.62X39brass into 6.5 Grendel, but have not talk to anyone how has done it.
