when i was in high school in wyoming from 1995-1999 we didnt have any issues with bringing our rifles of any kind to school period. everybody in town knew when hunting seasons were open. every pickup in our parking lot had at least one rifle in the gun rack in the back window, most had two. when the whole columbine thing happened things changed, our principal told us to take the rifles out of the back window and hide them behind the seats so they werent visible to passer-bys. after i graduated they did the whole no guns within 1000 ft of school property, which had to be hard to do in our town considering there was a major road in front of our school with houses every 50-75ft. i know damn well that at least 90% of those houses had at least one gun in them. things sucked after columbine.

Those were funny...painfully funny, but funny. Whoever wrote them had a real good sense of the ridiculous.

I think the no guns 1000ft of school is more of a scare tactic, school's are public property, I remember reading on the OFF (Oregon Firearms Federation) site about a year ago about this topic in Oregon...I guess it could be different in Wyoming though.  What are your thoughts on ccw laws in your other states on public property?
