How do the high end burris scopes compare to other scopes?

I ordered a Euro Diamond 3-12X56 with posi lock off the sample list.

Any one have any idea's on the posi lock? I've heard once you shoot, put the posi lock on, it will change your point of impact and it can be slightly tough to get it zero'd in, but after you get it right and locked down, its not going anywhere.

My main concern is how the glass stacks up to other scopes? I've heard its in VX-3 and Elite 4200 class. I hope its close to the glass in my Minox ZA3.

I'm considering one of the 1.5-6X40's as well for my 45-70, but i'll wait till monday to look thru the 3-12 and make my decision.

My 1.5-6x40 came last week. I like it better than the Monarch and 4200 I've been comparing it to. I am very impressed with the resolution and contrast, all the way out to the edge.
Burris really got their interpretation of the German 4A correct. This reticle is easy to pick up and excellent in low light. I could have easily made the shot on a whitetail that was standing in some leafless cover at 300 yds. the other evening.

I have several Burris scopes (Black Diamond, XTR, and FFII).  The BD and XTR to me are better than my 4200.  The FFII I have is about the same level as the 4200 (But that is just mine).

As for the posi-lok, it does shift your impact.  If I remember correctly, it shifts it about 1/4 inch.  I have that feature on my Black Diamond.  Keep in mind, that you don't have to use it.  The scopes still have the spring (double springs according to Burris), and so you don't have to engage the posi-lok.   I had target turrets installed on my Black Diamond, so I never engage it unless I am flying somewhere with it, then dis engage it when I get there so I can run the turrets.  You don't want to try to adjust your scope with it engaged.
