My friend gave me a scope for my new .30-06 rifle. I need to know if its alright to shoot this scope on my rifle with out it breaking. I'm pretty sure he got it off eBay, its labeled as a Bushnell, and seems pretty well built. I tested it on my .22, and it seemed to work fine, and I love its features, it has 3-9 mag, and illuminated ret, that would help me see in the low light hours. Is it even possible for a .30-06 to break a scope, would good rings take out all the guess work? Also, how do I add photos on here? I'd show you but I cant figure it out, well anyways thanks for taking your time to look into my question!

  Sincerely,
     Keegan

Bushnell makes a wide variety of scopes ranging from not that good, to very good depending on the model. What model do you have? Who knows maybe you have an Elite. They are good scopes. Ask the one that gave it to you why they no longer wanted the gift horse. I have given away several worthless scopes.

Well the box says its a Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn scope, and my friend gave it to me as a late birthday gift, so its new. Oh and by they way if it makes any difference it is nitrogen filled and has a coated lens.

Probably this scope. http://swfa.com/Bushnell-3-9x40-Banner-Rifle-Scope-P79408.aspx

It will probably work fine. Bet there is a lot of those used on hunting rifles

Alright, my rifle has weaver rails for the scope mount, so would any rings fit on it?

As long as the rings you buy are made to go on a Weaver type mount.

Probably need 1" medium rings. Any brand compatible with a Weaver rail will work.
