Hello everyone. First post. Really enjoy the website. I am fixing to buy a new tikka in 7mm and am trying to decide between alot of scopes. I haven't really decided how much I want to spend on one yet.

$500-$600 range
Monarch 6-24x50
Vortex 6.5-20x50
SII Big Sky 6.5-20x50
I would like to have the ability to dial in certain yardages(kenton) but I don't know which scopes will accept them.

$700-$800 range
Kahles Helia CL 3-10x50 multizero
VX3 6.5-20x50
Sightron SIII 6-24x50

If you was picking one scope out of each range, which would it be. I appreciate any of the help. It will be used mostly for deer/predator and target.

Or 6x on the bottom end for hunting?  That is a lot, 3x or 4x would be much better.

Yeah I would prefer 50mm. If not at least 44mm.  I do feel that 6 is pushing it on the low end. This will not be my only hunting gun. I am hoping to do some longer range target and predator hunting.

How long range are we talking?  I shot a yote at 400 yards with a 4x scope.  I shoot out to 1000 yards with 10 or 12x.

I don't know, I just think anything over 16 to 18x is only needed on 1500 yard plus rifles.  They just bring about to many issues that you don't need to deal with.

I'm talking 1000 yards or less. What scope and size would you recommend at $800 of less

Get the Kahles and never look back. You can see much more clearly with the better glass than power will ever make up. If there is any mirage you will only be using any of the scopes at no more than 10 power. Kahles CL is a great value for your buck.   Yippee

Typically speaking if you have decent eyesight then divide the max range that you want to shoot at by the yardage that you are comfortable shooting at with just iron sights. If you can easily hit your targets and see them at 100 yards then that would be the dividing number. If you then want to shoot at 1000 yards then dividing by 100 gives you 10 which would be the max power that you want on your scope. If the yardage is around 80 then you would want to go with 12 as the max power. Also the scopes that you have listed are all going to be nice for the money and work well also. Just bring the power down a bit unless you are planning to do a lot of target range work.
