I'm wanting to get a scope for some long range target shooting ranges between 300-1000y (just trying out to see if I like it if so I may need to go to a better scope)  the rifle is a single shot 308 with a 28" barrel (ex Omark M44 range rifle built up for F class) unfortunatly I'm on a rather limited budget of around $500-$600 (US) I need something around the 6-20X range I did like the look of the Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15 x40  not sure if it has enough magnification (or if the glass would be considered good enough?) what scopes are there in this range that would suit?
I am in Australia so some of these scopes seen on SWFA (like the super sniper) may not be available locally (hence needing some guidance and suggestions) unfortunatly SWFA doesn't send scopes here anymore but I would love to buy from them :(
sorry for the scant info I just can't justify spending more on a scope at this stage for a rifle that may only be used a few times a year
I will be using an older Simmons 44Mag 6.5x20x44 to see how the rifle shoots I though the optics on it were OK I never had any problems with it

If you can get Vortex there the Vortex Viper 6.5-20 is a very serviceable scope with enough elevation to get you to 1000yds

for strictly f class i'd say the 44, youll be able to get it to mount closer to the bore and you will rarely be in low light situations where the 50 would benefit you.
