Sounds like Super Sniper to me...  If you want to see holes in the paper get a spotting scope, other wise you will get too distracted.

I agree with silver's recommendation of a good spotting scope.  However, this may not be an option for you so I'll recommend:

--Bushnell 4200 Elite

--Sightron S II

--Burris Signature Select

--Nikon Monarch

--Weaver Grand Slam

(all of the above should run under $500)

Above $500...

--IOR 35mm

--Zeiss Conquest

--Burris Black Diamond

**Don't forget to invest in good quality rings & base!**

Hope this helps...

I have no problems seeing .308 at 100 yards with my 10x Super Sniper.

But, I use white and orange paper targets too.

"Best overall bang for your dollar"????........Super Snipaaaaaa!!!!

I already have a SS20x on an AR15 but I thought I might want a variable

on the 700.

Does anyone have a

Bushnell 6-24x40 Elite 4200 side focus w/o AO (Stock # 426242P)?

What do you think of this scope? Or SS16? Its not about price.

Elite 4200 has better glass than Super Sniper. You can shoot at a lower magnification and use higher magnification to look at bullet holes.  I have this scope on my 22-250 and you can resolve 22cal bullet holes at 100 yards, just fine.
