Good Evening all-

I just ordered a CZ 452 Varmint and wanted to see opinions for a scope. Money is an issue so we have to keep costs down a bit. Mainly used for paper target / some hunting out to 100yrds…..maybe a few shots at longer ranges. I really don’t fully understand the whole parallax thing but understand a variable is the way to go ( I think).

Anyway…here are a couple ones that I have been looking at:

SRP676m   Swift 4-12x40 Premier Rifle Scope $ 169.95

WC41640T Tasco 4-16x40 World Class Riflescope $ 84.95

Mapv451440 Mueller 4.5-14x40 APV Riflescope $ 114.95

89717 Pentax 4-16x50 Gameseeker Rifle Scope $ 148.95

Am I forgetting any others??????????

Any thoughts / advice would be appreciated. Obviously, I am looking for higher magnification but can’t spend too much money.  Here are a couple things that would be nice but I understand features cost money: Illuminated reticule / mildot / BDC.

Take care-Big Smile

The higher the power range the more money you need to invest to get something that will not disappoint you.    At 100yds a 10x will make the target look like it it 10 yds away with no scope why would you need more power?

I would look at the Weavers and the 2-7 will give you good field of view on 2x for the close shots. http://www.swfa.com/c-257-weaver-classic-rimfire-scopes.aspx It falls within the prices you have shown.

+1 on the weaver rimfire.

I have a fixed 4x Nikon on my 452 varmint and love it.

Don't buy a centerfire scope for a rimfire.  IMO.
