Not as simple as the conventional paradigm...
I have a Ruger RPR... it has a 20 MOA base (about the same dimensions as an AR10/SR25) with a flat, not aligned with the upper rail (aligned with the barrel) handguard in front.
I plan on putting a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50 scope on it.
In theory, the SWFA "medium" rings with its center to base 26.67mm center to base should work with this scope, however,  there's the cant of the upper receiver that will "dip" the objective end lower than the center line when it comes over the handguard. This isn't something applicable to an AR10/SR25 or any other conventional "flattop" upper with a rail.
I hate nagging CS with a return when the mistake is on my end (ordering the wrong part) so I'd like to get this right the first time (and avoid the expense and time with a return). I would also like to have the lowest scope height possible (I have removed the stock RPR stock in favor of a CTR M4 stock with a yet to be determined-height cheek riser.
So I'm facing a conundrum... what rings will put this scope at its lowest barrel axis and still clear the handguard with its 20 MOA cant?
All advice is welcome!
TIA.
~Eric

These are the "SWFA" high rings. the gap looks much more than it really is in this picture. I have added a sunshade since and it fit perfect. If you go with mediums its too close for comfort for my taste.

OUTSTANDING!
Thanks for the reply and pic Bigdaddy0381!!!
Looks like I will need the cheek-piece for the CTR as well.
BTW, what caliber you running? I got the 6.5CM for long distance use but I might get the .308 in the future. I'd pass out from bliss if they made a .300WM, 7mmRemMag or even a .338LM or .50BMG version using this same design. I love the RPR concept... I swear if they don't win the NRA's "product of the decade" I'm sending back my membership! The only flaws I have found in it is the handguard (not Ruger's fault, Sampson HG not secured, can cant accidentally but Midwest Ind. came out with a cure already) and bolt extension (the stock plastic shows bad signs of wear but there are 2 aluminum alts out there that cure this as well)... other than those freshman flaws, it's the perfect platform and oh, so affordable!
Thanks again for the advice... if we ever meet in person, I'm buying the first round!Bandito

BTW, I have 2 of the SWFA SSS's on my rifles. Both fixed power (10x). One on a 6.5 Grendel SPR AR (18.5 Satern bbl), the other on a homebrewed M21 built on an old Mauser receiver.
Love them! Especially love the Mil-Quad Reticle.
