If the reticle is mil-based, the formula for yards is: Target size in inches multiplied by 27.78 divided by the number of mils. I do not know the formulas for either meters or MOA.

So  Mike  what do you do in SYRIA?   Is this the reticle on one of the russian made sniper rifles or what type of rifle is this on?    What can you tell us?  Can you post a photo of the scope and rifle?

When I found you are from Syria I became curious.
So tell us a little about Syria and what type work you do there.  What is life like for you there? Ive been to Lebanon and Egypt but never to Syria. So what can you tell me that is interesting, I know very little about the civil war in Syria, not even why there is a problem, someone said chemical weapons have been used, is that true?

Scopes like that are designed to work correctly with a specific caliber it takes more info that you have provided to figure it out.  A photo of the markings on the scope can provide info regarding manufacturer and model -- it may not even be matched to a M4 rifles balistics.

!. Why the hostility?
2. <_
3. With the info of just a picture of the reticle and no info on the distance between the marks there is no way we can tell you how to range with this reticle.

Better to use a rangefinder, using a reticle to rangefind takes a lot of practice even with a good one that has known values.  The marks look too far apart for a 3-9.
I guess if all you want to know is a distance then what bullet doesnt matter.   Do you have a slide rule to do the math on?

WE fight for freedom in Syria .... i don't know how you see it but we are not Terrorists or religious fanatic .... I am not even a Muslim ..but we are civilians so we don't know how to use weapons I read a lot about sniping MOA,MILS,Ballistics but there still more and more to learn .

so in Syria we die trying to get freedom and the whole world just watch us get killed .

It's really hard to know what is going on so far away, we dont always trust what our news says to be true, so it seems better to ask.  Before this started what type of work did you do? Your english seem very good did you study here in the US?

Most of the people who frequent the OT Forum are dedicated to the concepts that "all men are created equal", that all have the God-given and UNALIENABLE rights to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".  If you are truly a freedom fighter in Syria, not pushing a radical Islamic or political agenda... you will find yourself quite welcome here, perhaps find some comfort here.  I hope you are not offended by our skepticism, but from our perspective it is warranted (perspective is truth to the holder).  We certainly wish you no ill, but I believe I speak for most when I say that there is some proof required that your motives and intentions are not anathema to our way of life, our belief systems, our dedication to the United States of America and to free peoples (and those who strive to be free) around the world.  That said, when we ask you for more information, we are looking for those elements that allow us to assist, while ensuring we are not aiding those who are aligned against us.  Let me give you some words of hope... in the American Revolution, at least in the beginning, over 70% of the population were "loyalists" with allegiance to the King of England.  But the small bands of Americans who yearned for freedom and a better way of life fought with conviction (and without much else for a large term of the war) and belief in God and won a Nation.  You can do the same.  In the end, France came to the aid of the United States and helped us to secure the greatest nation on earth, though many died in the cause of freedom.  We won against the mightiest military force in the world at the time.  If you are sincere, unwilling to submit to servitude, unwilling to be forced into actions and beliefs that are alien to all who yearn to be free... the world will see and aid will come to you.  We have had too many examples recently of lack of commitment, lack of will, lack of true honor.  The cause of freedom is a powerful incentive and a powerful refuge... but it must be held forth, must be the defining element of those committed to it... they must, like our Forefathers pledge "our lives, our fortunes and our Sacred Honor...".  That level of commitment, Sir, cannot go unnoticed, cannot go unaided, cannot be refused...

I concur with Kickboxer.
We as Americans have grown leery of helping people trying to overthrow oppressive dictators, only to have them replaced with regimes that are no better to the people, and just as hostile to the United States and our allies. We have heard from our news media and Government, that the Muslim Brotherhood has taken over the bulk of the resistance. This concerns Americans, as the Muslim Brotherhood has proven to be no friend of the United States.
If we were somewhat convinced that we were not going to help in an exchange of dictators, but were helping the people of Syria to actually become free, and form a secular government dedicated to democracy and freedom, then we would be more willing to become involved in some way.
