Although I have been shooting for many years, I'm am new to the world of scopes.  I have plenty of expirence with 1:1 sights, but none with magnification.  Having recently purchased a .50 BMG, I thought now was the time....  Can't see shooting my new tow at the 50 yard line with an EoTech on it!

I just received my new SS10x42 Super Sniper the other day and have a few questions...  Hope they're not too stupid for yor seasoned vets of the scope world.  The instructions I recieved cover mounting and simple zeroing, but yhat's about it.  (Something for you SWFA guys to work on).  First question, I plan on zeroing in my gun at 1000 yards.  After I do this, do I remove the windage and elevation knobs and replace them on the "0" marks?  Second, This parallax ring....thing.....  Does this need to correspond with the range I'm shooting at?

Thanks!

Because your gun does not shoot 1 inch groups at 1000 yds it is really the hard way to go about the problem. Sight your gun at 100 yds, then from a table of ballistic coef. and velocity determine the drop. Say 59 inchs. whic would be (if a 1/4 click scope) 4 X 59 or about 120 clicks up. Then as you suggest remove the "caps" and place them back on at the zero marking. You will then be in the ball park. Test the settings with live rounds and repeat the cap setting. The AO should be on the infinity marking at 1000 yds. or what every one you are shooting, yes it correspond with the range. See you didn't need anymore instructions.
