I'm trying to find a Millett TRS 6-25x56 with illuminated mil-dot and side focus on the SWFA web site and I'll be darned if I can't find one. Do they evn make one? The only scope I can find in that variable is the Buck Gold, but it doesn't have illuminated reticle.
That said, I recently purchased a Buck Gold in 4-16x56 with illuminated mil-dot side focus.

Forgot to finish typing above post.Whacko

Anyway, I recently purchased a 4-16x56 Buck Gold (that's what the box said) with illuminated mil dot side focus, and it's asweet scope. I'm just wondering if I actually got a TRS in a Buck Gold box? I may be losing my mind.

I don't think Chris sells the 56 but he does sell the 50

 http://www.swfa.com/pc-11722-1395-millett-4-16x50-tactical-30mm-riflescope.aspx

I have a Buck Gold 6-25X56AO that a well meaning friend sold me.  It didn't work out, it's a P.O.C. Let's  just say I chalked it up as a stupid tax on my part but I have wised up since then.
It now resides in my office closet as a boxed up paper weight. I put a super sniper in it's place on top of  my Rem. 700 in .308. The Super sniper is 10x the scope of buck gold.

If it has a side focus and has a illuminated mil-dot it a TRS.  Koshkin has been to the factory in Calif. and has done some testing.  I've tried to look for the tread but my WebFoo has failed me.  Koshkin is a WELL RESPECTED member of this site and is or was deep into the optics and targeting Biz. We respectfully call him the Dark Lord of Optics,  But no one argues about his posts. Steve at  Millett  sometimes drops by this site to check  up what  were  saying about his product. As for me their service is fine but their product P/N BK30725 is good for a paper wieght at best. IMHO!    PM Koshkin if you would like more info, He'll get back with  you.

The TRS-1 is a 4-16x 50mm, TRS-2 a fixed mag 10x 50mm. There is a new Millett coming out soon the LRS, what it is exactly is anyones guess at this point Steve at Millett has only hinted. It is supposed to be the best glass they can get, and some other refinements based on input Steve has gained from Koshkin as well as the posts here.

The LRS-1 is not out yet, I understand it will be shown at the shot show but not date yet on when it will be at dealers.

LRS 6-25x56 is not yet available.

I will look at it at the SHOT show coming weekend and I will try to get my hands on one for testing afterwards.

It should be a nice scope, but I would like to play with it for a bit before posting any conclusions.

I will see if I have copies of any Millett threads I have.  It looks like most of them are gone.

It's going on an Armalite AR-50 .50BMG. I know I'm taking my chances but I've heard some rumblings of Milletts fairing well on the big rifles. I'm wondering if it is the Buck Gold model or a different model? Anybody else heard anything like that?

The TRS is a Buck Gold, but uses better glass than the standard Buck Gold. It is a robust build and should do well on that rifle. I have mine on a 300 rum savage and it's doing very well there. I realize the 50 is gonna kick harder, but that is what the scope is rated, and tested for. The 6-25 56 will be the LRS-1 non illuminated. The TRS is a 30mm tube 4-16x 50mm illuminated. Have you checked out their site yet? www.Millettsights.com
