Dennis,

I am not a moderator but am guessing it isn't a big deal for two reasons.

One, since it is a British site, the retailer isn't a direct competitor with SWFA.

Two, it is a European company selling the scope and, to my knowledge, there aren't any Helios retailers in the US.

Now, to the question at hand....

That scope looked strikingly familiar when I went to your link. It is the same scope as the Theron Optics Saker 60 mm that is available in the US. If you search this forum and/or the web via google then you will not only find the US seller of this scope but also some glowing reviews of it. Short of the Celestron Regal 65 F-ED (twice the cost of the Saker and noticeably heavier) there isn't a single scope in this price bracket that compares to it optically. It is also very lightweight with an exceptionally smooth and crisp focus.

Here is a pic of the US version of it....

Yep, same scope.  They even were nice enough to put the logos in the same place.  Great value scope by the sounds of it.

Is there an adapter for the Theron to use a point and shoot digital camera? Can one just hold the camera to the lense of the scope and get good results?

tks

Dennis

You can use a universal adapter or contact tines up for a custom one (Get the Tines Up).  Handheld is not-so-good to terrible.
