Does anyone know when Hawke optics is going to be selling their new Panorama ED binoculars? They have them listed on their website but no price on it yet. From what I heard, it will be their most expensive pair of binos you can get. Wonder if anyone has heard anything about them yet..or am I the only one that is crazy enough to like Hawke products?

Maybe not the only one.  They have a pretty good following in the airgun FT and hunters.  When you calibrate your expectations for the price point I am not sure there is a competitive equal to their sidewinder 30.  While I am a novice, I know what I like. I have one of the sidewinder 30 scopes.  I find the clarity of the cross hairs to be brilliant. Good edge to edge, no obvious distortions to my eyes (unlike another scope I own).    Good feature set. As you probably know they offer a free ballistic program that I find exceptional.   I have no first hand experience with their lower end scopes.  I have to say that their US customer service responsiveness is the worst. (Did I say that outloud?)  I could not get product questions answered by this guy - something is stuck up his crack, which I think is his head.  I actually had to insult him to provoke a response!  When I was nice, my preferred approach - nada.  Not even a good old fashioned "get stuffed".  The lack of responsiveness made me think over buying one of their scopes.  Was not sure what kind of customer service I could expect after the sale given that my pre sale interaction was so absolutely  charming. Gag.  I got the scope anyway and am happy with it. Wonder if their slow adoption into the mainstream might be correlated with of the personalities of their US staff, at least one of whom needs to be taken out behind the woodshed and given a "stern talking to".  Just saying.  Yes, I have a soft spot for Hawke customer service.

Anyway - you are not alone.  However, you should know that Hawke kind of botched their entry to the US market. From what I have read some of their early products sucked.  That is the kind of thing people seem to remember.

Thanks for the tip on the pending intro of these binoculars. I am in the research phase of a binocular purchase.
