Okay, I did a search but there didn't seem like a lot of information on this site. I could be looking at the wrong things too, but i don't know. I am just asking, I am on a varmint forum and a sponsor is pushing his Hawke scopes. Says all kinds of great things about it and some of them agree. So what do you guys think. I have a new scope that I just bought for 1000$ so I am just asking for information that will be lost in my head somewhere thx robert

I think the only one that gets much good praise about it is the sidewider tactical. ILya uses one and has recomended it a couple times on a budget.

They just seem to have to many features for their price. Something always suffers, and it usually quality!

If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

Had one of the original that came to this country about 3yrs ago,Frontier series 2.5-10x44 with MD ret.Glass made in Japan & assembled in England. For $180 it was a very good little scope on par with the Vortex Vipers. They had gotten a good review on Sniper Hide with there top Frontier SF 4-16x42 in 9/9/2008.I don't know why maybe economics but they shifted to having all there products made in China,I guess you can figure out the rest.Very sad!
Go to there site at Hawke sport optics you'll notice 10,000 new scopes, very cheap,I can't tell you how good they are as I won't buy anything comming in from China, especially after the harm they did to our children.
Hope this helped with the info you sought.

I looked at a hawke endurance sometime last year... It seemed very clear, especially for the price, but I didnt do any kind of testing with it and really cant tell you any more than that.

I have a couple of Eclipse and Endurance models. For the money you get a lot of scope. I'm not big on Chinese made stuff, but do like mine. I've only used the 1-4 power and 1.5-6 power models and can't comment on their higher magnification stuff.
Ilya had and liked an Endurance model. You can read his review of the 1-4 power model. I bought mine based on what he said and also own the millet he references and the Hawke is superior to the Millet by a considerable margin. |

Hawke is almost the only company I know that is somehow managing to get products of consistently good quality out of China. The two product lines I have the most mileage with are Sidewinder 30 Tactical and Endurance 30.
I have spent a fair amount of time beating up Endurance 30 1.25-4.5x24 and Sidewinder 30 Tactical 4.5-14x42 and they functioned beyond my expectations. The original Sidewinder 30 I looked at was a 6-24x56 model which I gave a pretty bad review. To Hawke's credit they used it as one of the drivers behind reworking the optical system of the whole Sidewinder 30 series. ILya

Thanks as well,
I'm interested in the Endurance 1.5-6. My first choice is the VXR 2-7x33, probably still go with that. It's going on my 6.8 for mainly for stalking hogs, and Axis when I can get off island. |

I have 2 of the 1.5-6 ....well I had 2, my youngest daughter stole one for her .223 bolt gun. Nice glass, great field of view, only real negative is short battery life. "don't turn the dot on till you're about ready to shoot" The other 1.5-6 is mounted on my scrapped together AR flat top which is used for about the same purpose you're proposing with your 6.8, it functions really well.
