I received an e-mail from a company from who I have purchased rifle scopes, advertising the addition of this brand of scope to their inventory.  They are a reputable company who uses what they sell.  I know nothing about them and actually had never heard of them.  Their website indicates that they are a British company and while designed by Brits are made in Japan (not sure if all of them are, did not read about every scope).  At any rate, does anyone have any experience with these scopes and if so what can you tell us about them?

Hawke scopes are sold around here.I think they are made in China. They have 5-6 models of scopes, and only one worth looking at is Titan, which is exactly the same as Tasco Titan only labeled Hawke. Others are in my opinion only for .22.

Cheers

The website states that, at least the models I briefly purused, were made in Japan.  I will have to go back and check some of the others.  A site in the UK was selling the top of the line models for 1250 pounds!

After reading at their website, they only state the Fronteir models are made in Japan.  They make no statement regarding the others.

I see that they changed their line of scopes and Titan is no longer there.Nevertheless they look cheap and 1250 pounds for that scope is just.Person who would pay that kind of money for Hawke scope should stop using hard drugs. Scopes offered here were 40-150$ for cheaper ones, and titan was about 400$(also overpriced). They should be half the price in the USA though(all things cost two times more around here).

Cheers

I got the same e-mail, Dolphin.  However, past experience shows that the company in question typically has about 10-15% markup on their scopes compared to the prices from other dealers.  I do not know much about Hawke scopes, but they seem to import scopes from all over the world.  I am sure their top of the line scopes (made in Japan) are quite serviceable.  The only one of their scopes I've seen was a cheapie and it was not impressive.  They are very good for various T/C stuff apparently though and their own single-shot rifles are excellent.
