No they are not the exact same. The Hawke is more or less the equivalent of the ZEN ED, or the Promaster Infinity ELite ELX ED or the Atlas Intrepid. The ZEN ED 2 has a faster focus, dielectric prism coatings and a somewhat improved broadband coating process. I don't recall if the Hawke has the water an oil repellent coatings or not. The original ZEN ED did not but the ZEN ED 2 does. However the basic optical design is the same. Any seller of a brand will usually try to have something done to "their" binocular to seperate it from the others. The Vortex Talon is the closest of the crop to the ZEN ED 2.
