I got this foto of my trail cam last summer. A bit blury but kind of fun it was shot in that exact moment where the hawk gets a hard time from the duck.

I see it every year when the ducks are having their ducklings in our lakes, the swans and geese are a pain in the ass for the small ones. They chase them around and if the swans can get away with it they try to drown the ducklings.

Ha ha. Over here they are protected, Grrrrr.  They are nice to look at but, like in most cases when something gets protected, there comes a time where the protection needs to stop. We have reached that point now.

If I remember correctly I read once that In Upstate NY on the shore of Lake Ontario the DEC puts oil or something like that on Swan eggs so they don't hatch because they are considered an invasive species.
