I'm am wanting to buy a pair of binos around the 500 dollar range . I own a couple Sightron S3LR riflescopes and I really like them . I was wondering if anyone has tried their 10x42 S3LR binos . If so how do they stack up to the Nikon Monarch 7 and Vortex Vipers or Talons ? I am thinking of buying the Sightrons or the Monarch 7 . Thanks for any input

I am not going to write a long story or book or scientific paper to convince you, after all, it's your money.
But, know that in that price range the 8x42 models are better than their 10x42 siblings and you will see better with them handheld in low light when you are trying to decide which deer to shoot.
Never looked through the $500 Sightron. The $200   Sightron Blue Sky 8x32 is awesome. The Vortex Viper 8x42 is excellent.

My reason for wanting a 10 power binocular is for glossing deer at 500 plus yards . I kinda figured that with 10 power I would be able to better determine the size of their rack . Maybe 8 power would be fine for this

For what you describe, the highest quality 8x lenses and binoculars will  be more effective than just an average 10x binocular. A good Zeiss Conquest HD 8x42 can easily do what you ask, for example.
Also, there are a few 16x50 or 20x50 great quality spotting scopes out there (Vortex, Nikon) that you can easily use off a lightweight shooting stick. Such a small scope would be much better than a 10x binocular.
I sometimes tie a small scope onto the gun craddle at the top of a monopod. It works well.

I'll check out some 8 power binos . Not really interested in dragging a spotting scope and a pod with me . If I were to go that route I would just use my rifle scope to glass . Thanks though . So nobody has any experience with the Sightron S3LR binoculars ???

At $500 don't expect to see a lot of optical difference.  People waste a ton of time wondering what if this one vs that one.  The critical thing to do here is find a glass that fits your face and hands, at any price level actually.  Kind of like a good rifle...it is not worth much if it doesn't fit right.  Some people are a lot easier to please than others.  Any mentioned should do fine.  I have not seen the Sightron.  They may be the hardest to find in stock someplace where you can actually look at them.

As for 8x vs 10x, there is NO answer to that one.  Never will be.  That is simply too personal and you are the only one who can answer that one.  Personally I'd take an 8x for all round use any day of the week.  Others will disagree.  That is just the way it is.

You might see if you could find a Zeiss Tera ED someplace.  Usually less than $500 and pretty good from what I have seen of them.  The Monarch 7 should be pretty easy to find too.  Point being, if you can find one someplace where you can look it over, and if you like it, then get it.  If it is a Monarch 7, for instance, I'd not worry much about something else.  Or a Vortex Talon, or a Zeiss Tera, or whatever.

I think it would be hard to find anybody with much experience with the Sightron.  I'd never even heard of that model Sightron binocular until now.
