Has anyone put a Weaver Tact 3-15x50 on a Savage? |

I'm wondering what ring you used, and in what height. I have the model 10 'Predator Hunter,' which comes from Savage with 2-piece Weaver bases. I have no interest in buying a different base(s). Thanks!

Since no one else has, I'll report on what I've now done. :)
Using Burris Signature Zee 'high' rings on the factory-installed Weaver 2-pc bases (std. Weaver bases, as far as I can tell) lets the Weaver scope bell clear, but that's about it. The Butlet Creek cap is going to be close as to whether it fits or not... |

Okay, maybe not so close as I'd thought. I'd have to bend something to get it to fit. This means that the ring height is extremely good (as in, as low-profile as possible with this scope and medium-barrel-weight gun), but I'd need something like Leupold Alumina screw-in caps to have a cap that fits between the scope & bbl.
Which leads me to my next question: Is there a good cross-reference somewhere that lists the myriad thread diameter + pitch specs for the various scopes out there? It would be VERY handy to be able to know that (just a fer-instance) a Leupold Alumina cap had xx-in (or mm) by xx-pitch threads, and therefore would screw right in to a Weaver or Burris or whatever scope with a xx objective.
