I have a timney trigger installed in my rem700.  I decided to try the David Tubb speedlock firing pin assembly to get rid of the j-lock and to shorten lock time.  I took it out to the range for the first time last week end and around 50% of all my rounds were misfires.  I called David Tubb's  business and talked to a tech and he said that the new timney triggers don't always work with their speedlock firing pins because timney shortened the sear travel to reduce locktime and the lighter firing pins need the extra travel to hit the primer hard enough to set it off.  The tech was very nice and said I could send back the assembly for a full refund.

seen this happen wit hthe Tubb set up.

Might also look at the simple stuff, like the firing pin/shroud assembly is not seated comepletely, ie; needs 1 more full turn to be seated to the bolt body.  Did that one myself :)

I had similar problems with one when added to a Surgeon bolt and Timney trigger. It had worked fine with a stock Remington action.
