I thought it would be cool to have a thread to report this seasons tag fillers.

I'm happy to report a bow season day opener doe. 20 yds. broadside, ran about 100yds. I don't think she would have run that far if a fox or coyote hadn't been messin with them in the field. I plan to have pics of future harvest. Who's next?  Yippee

Monday 09/15 at 6:10pm doe #2 18yds. broadside. Had to take the shot before I could get in the stand. Coyote's got to her before I did. Have to go get em alittle sooner from now on I guess. Robin%20Hood

Congrat's Cy! Have you got a pic of that TenPoint Stealth? Don't think I've seen one.
I'm keepin it simple with the 100 gr. muzzy 3/blade. They fly good for me but I'm still watchin the mechinical scene to see what comes out next.

this is the first year that crossbows are allowed during archery season in mn i believe, before they made an exception for handicapped people who couldnt pull a bow string back on there own, let me double check that though.

I will advise also. Anyone that thinks it's cheating you should try cocking the string in your stand. That ain't an easy task.

i lied you can still only use them during rifle season, but i was correct about the disability use thing, and if you qualify a mechanical device can be added to cock the string.

you dont cock it before you climb?Loco

Actually Last year I had to shoot at three deer, and each time was a new adventure, I finally discovered a trick that made cocking that thing easier.

I'm pretty sure you could get away with using frag grenades in my Zone as long as it's between Aug 15 and Jan 1.

Matthews is a fine bow. Folks that own them say they'll never own anything else. Congrats and many good hunts to you.

Broke the new Sako .30-06/Kahles in tonight . 100# doe @ 80-90 yrds .......Win. 168 ballistic tip..........heart shot...........DRT !!! Scope was awesome for a real low light shot ! Entry =bullet size........exit = nickel size. Not as dramatic as I expected for my first ballistic tip kill (seen all this about blowing up and deer running forever...........and the other side, where people have baseball sized exits) !! I thought it did real well given the circumstances !!

Congrat's cbm!!  Win. 168 ballistic tip..........heart shot should always make for a happy hunt. Shot placment will always be key to what ever you shoot. I prefer more expansion and a better exit wound, but if they drop on the spot then it doesn't matter much.

#3  (09/19/08) 43yds quartering away, hit a limb but still connected. Hit in the neck and dropped. I'll take a lucky hit now and then, as long as its not too often. 3 in the first week of the season and got this week off. The homeless folks will have plenty of deer burger this year if I have anything to do with it!
