After finishing prep for pouring concrete in my barn, I shot bird feeders today…  not full auto, though…
CT, I could sure use your help…  too bad you live so far away.

Concrete has never been fun for me… unless I am ripping it up with a front-end loader

Wish I lived closer, Dan. I love concrete. Got a new floor slab going in?

Roger that… it's only 20x30, but I've not done any concrete work (other than poured walls and porches, in a LOOOONG time.  I divided it into 6 10x10 sections. Spent a little time grading the base, but ordered 9 yards for a 7.5 yard requirement.  Anything left I'm going to pour on the big curve on my driveway (just "splash pour").

I've got to do the garage drive soon… that will be about 23 yards and much more complex than the barn.

Dude, I would LOVE to have your help, but you are far too professional for my piddly little "stuff".  It's just that I am fine with "rough" work… Lori wants "fine finish".  It's not like the Queen of England is going to visit… However, it WILL be finished to her specifications…

I just opened a bottle of 12 year old Glenlivet my oldest daughter gave me 7 years ago.  While it does not "age" in the bottle, it does "mellow".  Not bad… not that bad at all...

Thank you, all…

I opened the Glenlivet too soon… My wonderful, darling, magnificent wife just gave me a bottle of MacAllen 21 year old for my birthday… I am truly a blessed man… how this lady could have come into my life, and WILLINGLY continues to live with me, is beyond my understanding… Daniel in Hebrew "God has judged"… I am truly blessed…
And before this, she gave me a Hensoldt...

After a dinner of a FINE steak with a squash/vegetable medley, I convinced my Lady to imbibe of the Macallan 21…
I broke out the "good glasses" (we found them at an upper echelon antique shop a few years ago… they are the finest Waterford crystal… heavy and ornate, but not overstated) and Lori shared a "dram" with me.

As good as a Scotch can possibly be… lively and flavorful, each sip a differnt explosion of tastes.  It is a Speyside Scotch which automatically and emphatically pronounces FLAVOR…  There is a hint of peat, not pronounced as in a Lafavulin, an Ardberg, or a Laphroaig.   Strong honey, vanilla and a back pallet hint of cinnamon.  There are some wisps of leather, cardamom, and heather, with a faint waft of honeysuckle.  A complex and delightful Epicurean imbibement.  One of the absolute best birthday gifts I have ever received.  Truly awesome in its delivery.  My Lady has "taste" beyond compare… continual amazement that one so lowly as I could aspire to such heights.
