I like to try new stuff, so I had to get one of the Griffin scope mounts. I checked it with an alignment tool, and it is as perfectly aligned as I can visually determine. I like the way it is put together, appears to have great clamping force. The left side of the ring top screws in from the top, the right side from the bottom, which is a little odd and the screws that hold the mount base to the picatinny rail somewhat interfere with the right side screws being tightened, but it is not a major malfunction and fairly easily overcome. A little thought and patience and it is easier, and better in my opinion, than those rings that use vertical clamping.
It looks good and I am anxious to try it out. Mail did not arrive until nearly dark, so I did not get a chance to shoot with it mounted. It is on the .378 Weatherby Magnum with Swarovski Z6i1-6. Not a bad looking package. |

What makes it special or more special than the other 42 mounts on the market now that look and work just like that one? Honest question! Whats there selling point?

Other than being STANAG 4694 compliant and ability to mount additional accessories to the scope mount itself, nothing. It is a very nice mount, very reminiscent of the Aadmount in quality, but it is less expensive than most of the really good one-piece mounts.
It is another option... it has some nice red-dot mounting features... truly ambidextrous. I like it, but am not going to replace any of my other mounts with one. If/when I need another mount, it will certainly be in my list of options due to quality, utility and price. Oh, and it's designed specifically to work with Griffin suppressors...

Ok, so basically STANAG 4694 compliant is the only difference. Thanks for the info. Keep up posted on the function of it.
Is it a zero MOA? |

It IS 0MOA. They make 15MOA. 30mm, 34mm, 35mm in three heights.
It's a good mount. Probably fantastic on an AR.
