It is just a simple Weaver K 2.5, but it will go great on my muzzle loader. Apparently Weaver has recently discontinued this model and I had to call a few places before I found one in stock. The scope is light and the optics are noticeably brighter than an old Tasco that I have laying around. I know it is not a high dollar scope, but I am pleased as punch!

Not a high dollar scope.

That may be true, but the Weaver line of scope are really great scopes. I don't think they get the recognition that they should get!

I give Weaver a thumbs up any day!!!!!!!

I have a slightly older K2.5 on my replica VZ24 sniper and it is an excellent piece.  I did not know it got discontinued, or I'd buy another one in leiu of some other recent purchases.

If Koshkin has one then you know it has to be a really great scope!

Thank You, Stephanie.

I also have a drawer full of cheap chinese scopes that I bought when just started getting into this.  Occasionally I take one to the range and set it up at 100 yards (too lazy to walk further) and try to walk it up the backstop.  That's all they are good for.

I do like Weaver scopes quite a bit.  Easily some of the best buy out there.  The only currently produced Weaver scopes that I found really underwhelming are the high magnification V-series scopes (above V9).  I did not like them.  However, K2.5, K4, K5, V3, V7, rinfire scopes and all the Grand Slams are excellent, IMO, especially if you consider their prices.

I'm fond of the 3.5-10x50 Grand Slam . You don't have to spend your whole bank account to get a superior scope!

I prefer smaller objectives personally, but I have not yet seen a Grand Slam that I did not like.  Now, if Weaver got a little more itneresting with their reticles, there would be a few Grand Slams mounted on my rifles.

I also find myself always leaning toward a Kahles scope as well, with the TDS reticle.

It looks like Bushnell is going to be putting as more interesting reticle into an Elite 4200.  I hope Weaver follows suit.  I am ideologically opposed to German scopes, so Kahles et al are not in my future, but Burris/Pentax and Leupold already make a bunch of scopes with interesting reticles.  I also like IOR's MP8.

I find it a little aggravating though that Weaver put a Mil-Dot reticle into a V24, but not into any of the Grand Slams.
