Hi guys new to forum and target shooting. I have been shooting with a few friends and we just started competitively shooting just among us and they have all upgraded guns and I am in love with my 243 and just want to upgrade scope. I have decent results with scope I have now but it's not consistent. I have hit quarters at 75 yards or so and want that to be done more consistently. I have seen everyone say 3-9 is plenty at 200 yards and I agree but I want to be as precise a possible (on the fun level not professional) so maybe a 4-12? Budget is around 200-300$ thanks a lot everyone!!!!

Welcome to The OT.

Have you considered a fixed power scope?

I was thinking the same scope or maybe a SS 12, but either with the new mil rad set up. But they are not in stock yet but soon.

The SS 10x, I know will focus down to 10 meters, all the way to infinity.

Would that be enter quality than buying a 3-9 or 4-12 since variable Zoom cost more?

sounds like a bushell trophy xlt 4-12 would be a good choice for you, good scope for the money, I like mine alot. check competitor they normally have a good price on them

You need 50 posts in order to be able to edit.

For target shooting I would still go with a fixed power SS.

If it is target only I think a SWFA 16x SS would be perfect. I Wouldn't wait for the mil/mil either as the 1/4 MOA adjustments on the current scopes are a little finer than .1 MIL for precision target work, like hitting quarters.
