My wifes been on me to clean up the little area I have. Decided to get on it since I was bored. Found 2 boxes of .45 long colt ammo. I'm going to the range, dont have time to go to the farm. God bless the single action!

Oh yes! Gotta love the .45LC. Put so many rounds through a .45 Blackhawk that it ultimately got loose and needed repair.
You can also shoot .45LC in your Ka-Sool. |

Unfortunately, Freedom Arms does not recommend this for my Model 83.

Do you follow Freedom Arms' admonishment to hold on with both hands? |

Cool!
Got my 'gotta get one' juices flowin'... those are really neat pistols. Looks like some scuffs on that .45-70 Encore barrel... hope that wasn't from whacking you upside the head. If that isn't big enough, guess you could go get a 500 Smith barrel, but then if those two rigs you already have won't stop 'em, might be time to retreat. Have you had any hunt success with them? Seems that either of them would make a great hog/deer pistol. Got any load data/performance comments? Do you lean towards heavier/slower bullets or the fast/lighter loads? I can understand some of FA's thinking. I can't get a 0.0015" feeler in on any of the chambers.
As far as one handed, I do it all the time. It is actually a bit easier than two handed. With two hands I have a good lock and the gun tends to snap my wrists. With one hand, my arm tends to swing up and over. But, the wrist doesn't snap. I like it better and it is no different than a bullseye hold. |
