Weaver KT15.
Hello. Can anyone give me a review/impressions of this scope please? It's a candidate for a .223. Does it have repeatable clicks? Is it fairly robust?
Any observations would be appreciated.

What is your intended application? Varminting? This scope is parralax free to 100 yrds, after that there will be error. get an adjustable parralax scope with your choice of reticle design. There are many to choose from Whats your price range ?

Thank you for your response. The KT15 has an adjustable objective, so I am not concerned about parallax. The price is not a factor. I was hoping to hear from anyone that has used this scope. I have been unable to find any reviews.

HMM I missed that detail, Great than that won't be a factor, What type of reticle are you considering. All in all the Weaver is a decent scope, and I think you should have no problems. If price is not a factor though, The options are far greater for you. Kahles, IOR, Zeiss, the 4200 series Bushnell. The list is long Nikon Monarch comes to mind as well. Keep us posted and Good luck to you. WELCOME to the OT.

I almost bought one a few years ago to mount on my .223 for prairie dog shooting on a budget. I had found my 3-9x Leupold a bit lacking in magnification for that role and thought that the Weaver KT-15 would be a good, inexpensive alternative, as I had heard good things about them. I never followed through on that plan and haven't shot prarie dogs since then anyway.
I, too am interested in hearing from someone who owns one. Are they still in production?

Steve, I have a KT15 on my .223 and think it is a very good scope. The objective bell has a very long tapered section and I had to use old Weaver offset rings to get the eye-relief correct for my rifle. The front ring has very little room between the turrets and the start of the taper. Good luck, Jon

Thanks for the response. I'll be using a Ken Farrell base on a SA Savage. This should give me some flexibility for ring placement. The rings are Burris Signature Zees.
I trust that this scope has not given you any problems. |

I have one that I switch from rifle to rifle for load testing. I have Weaver QD style rings and one piece bases on most of my pred rifles. I recut a cross slot on the bases so I don't have to move the rings on the scope. It's a great scope for what I use it for but find a fixed 15x pretty limiting on a hunting rifle, it might work for PD's but that's not my sport.

I had one for several years on a .223 Savage. It was a very good scope for the price back then. Of course, mine was old enough that I believe it was made in Japan. Not sure where the current models are manufactured. Its' only drawback was a somewhat narrow field of view, but it was reasonably rugged and stayed bright and clear while I had it. Shot a lot of ground squirrels out to 200 yards or so, and rock chucks out to 300.

While this is an old thread (last spring), I've been using the KT-15 as a low cost alternative to a better Leupold on my .22 rimfire rifles for 50yd and 100yd benchrest and think it is an excellent piece of gear. I especially like the fact that it will focus down to less than 50yd, which is a problem with many scopes. I also use it occasionally on my Remington 700 CDL in .260 Remington when I feel like shooting F-Class Open as I don't like to swap out my 20X Leupold unless I have to. The Weaver isn't a Leupold, but is still a very nice piece for the $$ and I have a standing offer to purchase from two of fellow rimfire benchrest competitors.
