Is the posi-loc feature worth the xtra money or not?  It will be on a 7-08 and a 6.5 X 284 Encore eventually.  I am thinking a 2X7.

I have never had a problem with the adjustments on any of my Burris scopes and I have used them on rifles up to .375 H&H. The only thing the Posi Loc has done for me is added a step in the sight in process.

The only problems I had with a 2x Burris scope on a 44Mag T/C were with the posi-loc itself!  I too found it a time consuming feature when changing barrels, etc.  ( Burris fixed it both times.)

I was really unhappy with the Burris pistol scope that I had seems the scope eye relief wouldnot let you hold it at arms length at the higher powers. I wouuld probably opt for a fixed 2x or at most a fixed 4x

I've shot a Burris 2-7 without Posi-Loc on a Freedom Arms 454 a lot for two years with no problems.  I'd say it's not needed.  Urimaginaryfrnd is right about the eye relief; it's not comfortable at higher powers.  I use mine up to 5X.  The real difference is in low light performance.   The 2-7X32 just blows away the 2X20 I had at first.  I use the 2-7 on 3X about 90% of the time.
