I talked to one of your sales representatives at SWFA and I was informed that I couldn't order with a credit card and have the goods delivered to a different address than that of the credit card. I was also informed than I can't send a money order from Argentina (through Western Union) to you and have the goods delivered to a US address.

I must asume that it is impossible to send someone in the States a present with your company, something that I can do through other american mail/onternet order companies.

Can you clarify this?

Thanks.

We have had to implement these policies due to an extreme amount of fraud.  The credit card companies make us eat the fraudulent charges if we do not ship to the billing address and if we do not verify the billing address.  International card's banks do not participate in the address verification so we can not take your card.  We also only ship to U.S. addresses and only ship to the billing address, so we can not ship to you.

Fraudulent money orders have been coming in from foreign countries at an alarming rate and we have no recourse to collect on these.  So far the only bad money orders we have received have been from outside of the U.S. so we now only accept U.S. money orders.

I know we are losing business because of this but it pales in comparison to the amount of money we have been losing due to fraud.  There is nothing we can do, sorry.

 This question was asked by an Aussie a few weeks ago, and I wondered what the reason was. Thank you for addressing this, Chris. I feel bad for your company having to deal with this fraud by eating the cost, and I feel bad for the foreign customers who can't do business with you because of this.

  I HATE THIEVES!!!

Chris:

Thank You for your answer.

Still I fail to understand why can't you wait untill the money order is cashed (just as if it were a check) and then deliver the goods.

     money in the bank----->send the articles to buyer

  fake money order---------->don't send them

PayPal is not fraud proof, in fact it is easier than credit cards to pull off.  We only accept PayPal for our e-Bay auctions and only accept payment from U.S. Pay-Pal accounts and only ship to their U.S. verified address.

Basically our policy is our policy, we can second guess it and continue to come up with, "what if" scenarios but the bottom line won't change........we only do business in the U.S.A.

Customers that are out side The USA - should have their friends and or family members whom are residents of The USA -pick up a scope for them? Sounds easy to me, but anything that seems easy to me ends up being a mess!
