Let me start off by saying I know nothing about scopes. I'm not familiar with the terminology, brands, etc. I am planning to buy a Remington 700 VS chambered for .308 sometime in the next few months and would like to get a good scope to go along with it. I would only be using the gun at the range, but I'd like a scope that would be good out to 700 meters for no more than $300 (if that's possible. Again, I just don't know :) ). Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hmmm....a scope primarily used at the range on a Varmint Synthetic .308 shooting out to 700 + - meters. First off, nice selection for what you are doing....those factory hot rod Remingtons shoot very good right out of the box. It is possible to get you into a scope around $300.00 that will do what you want. I would suggest the Weaver V16 4-16x42. It is an excellent scope for the money, especially for range work. Adjustable objective, low profile target knobs and plenty of power. IF you want to spend a little more its big brother the V24 would work also. Weaver 4-16x42 A/O, Plex Reticle, Matte Finish.......$289.95 Weaver 6-24x42 A/O, Plex Reticle, Matte Finish.......$329.95 |
