My son has a Bushmaster AK A3 16in Carbine and needs a scope so he can see bullet holes at 100 yards can you recommend something under $500?

I don't want the rifle to look like a sawed off varmint rifle <scope as long as the barrel>

I might be asking for to much.

What about the SS 20x?

I doubt the SS would look too big for that gun, especially if it were without sunshades. My 10x SS shows bullet holes at 100 yards very well. Of course if ya
want 20x then go for it but on hot days and a hot barrel, mirage may make it pretty much useless.

Since this is the target catagory... is he in competion (or perhaps wanting to) or just "punching holes" with Dad?

What else might he do with this rifle?

In my experience.... even at 12x ... I can't always see a .223 or .224 hit at 100 yds .... especially on a "used" target........

i have the SS10X42 on my RRA varmint, with 18" barrel, and i can see the bullet holes at 100 yards just fine, and can somewhat make them out at 200.

Thanks guys! Ordered a SS 20x. If it doesn't look good on sonny's AR15, I know it will look good on Old Dad's M1A

Well we got the SS20X, looks great, very clear view, not too big for the carbine.

Can wait to put some holes on paper. Oh I mean Can't wait to see my son put some hole on paper .

Thanks again guys!
