I just got the Remington 2007 catalog and the only calibers Rem is offering in the BDL is .243, .270,

7mm mag, 30-06 & 300 RUM.  They are offering many more in CDL.  My question is what makes the CDL more popular or better?  Is there something about the design that is inherently better......like less felt recoil....more accurate?

take em!

I think that because the BDL's styling is 20+ years old, it is just not selling as well as in the past. The CDL incorporates the Limbsaver pad, is a finished in a hunter friendly matt , and is current with today's styling trends. However, if the BDL is your thing, there are plenty of leftover BDL's out there to fill most any demand. Not to beat on the BDL's looks--heck, I have a Weatherby Deluxe that the BDL styling is mimicked after .

I have a Remington 700 BDL in 30-06 and it looks and shoots like a dream.I prefer the glossy walnut to the plain jane composite stocks but I believe there are some nice looking composites out there.Guess a lot depends on your hunting enviroment. Will you be walking a lot and will it be out in the weather?Just seems like I can feel the history in my rifle every time I pick it up.BTW it's a 1979 Model and I group 3 in a quarter @ 100 yds off the sandbags which some may laugh at but is plenty for me.

Good Luck Either way you go,
