I have a vintage MONOSCOPE No. 53129, 15-50X60. Eyepiece is loose and both focus and power adjustments are stiff. Was it of good quality in it's day? Where would be a good place for repair? Is it likely worth fixing?

I heard from Erik at Mountain Optics, Oceanside, CA. After I sent him some photos, description and assured him it was more than 50 years old, he concluded that it was a pretty high quality scope, appeared to be in excellent condition, and that replacing it today with one of equal quality would cost way more than the repair cost. It's now en route to him for internal refurbishing. If I knew how to post photos, I would. I'll try to remember to keep you posted as to how this comes out.

I caught the implication somewhere that one must have 50 posts to qualify for posting photos. If someone wants to see photos of this vintage MONOSCOPE. let me know and I'll e-mail them to you. Then if you want, you could post them if you have 50 or more posts
